Saints Outgun Lincoln, 83-47, Dec. 12

SPRINGDALE — Ten Saints scored, led by Jack Hutchinson’s 25 points, as Shiloh Christian handed Lincoln an 83-47 loss in 3A/4A District 1 boys basketball action at Springdale Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Hutchinson had 10 points in the first quarter, including a 3-pointer. Five Saints put points on the scoreboard for Shiloh Christian in the period while Lincoln relied on Troy Sugg, who had all 9 of the Wolves’ points in the first. Shiloh led 26-9 after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was the most competitiv­e of the contest. Shiloh (22) and Lincoln (21) combined for 43 points. Troy Sugg had 8 and received help from Sterling Morphis with 6 points in the period. Hutchinson continued to be unstoppabl­e with 13 points and Shiloh led 48-30 at intermissi­on.

The third quarter mirrored the first except the Saints kept a handle on Troy Sugg, limiting him to a single field goal. Lincoln managed just 7 points in the period while Shiloh Christian exploded for 26. With the Wolves also holding Hutchinson to a single field goal, his teammates spotted up from the perimeter. Russ and Reagan White combined to hit four 3-pointers and Seth Turpin chipped in 6 points. By the time the third ended the game was well out of hand with Shiloh in front by a 74-37 margin.

Jaret Russ added 18 for Shiloh Christian. Troy Sugg was Lincoln’s top scorer with 21 points. Bradon Umberson and Morphis also reached double figures for the Wolves with 10 points apiece.
