Prairie Grove Woman Arrested In Connection With Stolen Vehicle
Prairie Grove police on Jan. 5 arrested a Prairie Grove resident in connection with felony theft by receiving for being in possession of a vehicle stolen from Bella Vista, according to an incident report.
Jennifer Lynn Maybee, 34, also is facing the following misdemeanors: obstruction of government operations for giving false information to law enforcement, carrying a weapon, fleeing and driving right of center.
Maybee has a Jan. 23 court date in Prairie Grove District Court on the misdemeanor charges and will appear in Washington County Circuit Court on the felony charge.
According to the report, officer Uriel Paredes noticed a vehicle stopped at Center Point Church Road and East Butler for an unusual amount of time and turned around to drive toward the vehicle. The vehicle was a black Chrysler but the vehicle license plate returned as a Ford pickup.
Paredes said he turned his siren on and the vehicle accelerated. He found the vehicle abandoned on Quail Ridge. The VIN number on the vehicle came back as one stolen from Bella Vista. Items left in the vehicle apparently belonged to Maybee whose address was on Meachum Road, not far away, the report says.
Paredes talked to Maybee at her residence and she insisted she was not driving the vehicle and gave out several names, indicating others who were driving the vehicle. Evidence at the scene, the report indicated, showed that only one person appeared to be in the vehicle and items found in the vehicle, including a cell phone, belonged to Maybee.
She was taken to Washington County Detention Center and arrested on the felony and misdemeanor charges.
