New Children’s Librarian At Library

- Dianna Payne

Nothing like having the flu for the holidays!! Inventory week went smoothly, thank you for your patience during that time! And now we are back to normal business again!!

So I have a lot to share with you. We have a new children’s librarian, her name is Leandra Kapity. She is very excited to be taking over Story Time, as Ms. Sherry Rodgers is retiring. Same time as usual and same day: Wednesdays at 10 a.m. The ladies and I put together a scrapbook for Ms. Sherry with all the pictures of Story Time that we could find. We had several from the old library with Ms. Nicky. Sherry loved it! And we enjoyed seeing all the pictures of the little kids and how they have grown up over the years.

We also turned in all the canned goods to Grace Place that The Lincoln Public Library collected during December. Thank you to everyone who donated, it was much appreciated. We may do it again next year!

Did you also know that we are renewing all your items over the phone now? Just call and ask us to and we will, but of course there is a limit as to how many times.

If you think you owe a fine or you are sure you do, please come in and talk to me, surely we can work something out together. We want to help you get the books, movies and audio books you and your family enjoy, so come on in and see me.

Our Crocheting and Knitting Clubs are still going on, you can call us for more information.

Amber Rhodes-Smith is our weekend supervisor and she will help you if you can’t come in during the week. We have a new lady here, her name is Hayley. She broke her leg when she had only been here a couple of months and its been a struggle for her, but she is now back at work part-time. Holly is our substitute and has taken her place while she was home recovering from surgery. Both these ladies are awesome and we are glad to have them here with us at the Lincoln Public Library.

Remember me mentioning we were processing two boxes of donated audiobooks? We now have them ready for you to check out. All kinds too! Come and see what’s going on here at the Lincoln Public Library. You just might run into someone you know, and we have chairs up front so you can visit for a while. Big glass windows that let you see the beautiful square here in Lincoln. Come by and check us out!
