Georgia Almeda Reese, 82, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

She was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Sparks, Okla., the daughter of Edgar and Lola (Carter) Newnam. She had many volunteer roles in her community including: Chaplain at the American Legion Auxiliary Beaty-Bibb Post 171, teacher’s assistant at Maranatha Christian School for several years, Grace Place one Saturday a month and served coffee at the Veterans Hospital several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Reese; her parents; four sisters, Phyllis Newnam, Jo Smallwood, Jean Hooper and Ruby Conley; and one brother, Eddie Newnam.

Survivors include four sons, Lee Reese and Ed Reese both of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jody Reese of Cane Hill, Ark., and Alan Reese of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Sandy Bush of Lincoln and Carrie Peake of DeRidder, La.; four sisters, Norma Sparks of Ferndale, Calif., Sharon Teixeira of Camp Verde, Ariz., Brenda Courtney of Cordes Junction, Ariz., and Carrie Stone of Camp Verde; 18 grandchild­ren, Charles Reese, Shauna Overturf, Hampton Reese, Lindsay Burkhart, Haley Reese, Malissa Vincent, Sharon Reese, Brian Vann, Daniel Reese, Holly Reese, Dan Bush, Amanda Wantland, Meghan Morsches, Christy Classen, Isaiah Peake, Jessica Nightingal­e, Jonathan Peake, and Luke Reese; and 27 great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.
