Robert Lee Hall, 97, of Hogeye, Ark., passed away Sunday,

July 8, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

He was born Feb. 9,

1921, in Senath, Mo., to Robert

Edgar and Martha Hall.

He was a Second Lieutenant in World War II, flying 35 missions over Europe as bombardier of a B-17 Flying Fortress. He was awarded the Distinguis­hed Flying Cross and an Oak Leaf Cluster for displaying courage, coolness, and skill.

He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City.

He taught 36 years, 22 of those years in the Fayettevil­le High School English Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Juanita Swindle Hall; two brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie; one daughter, Katie Young and husband Joe of Hogeye; two sons, Lee Hall and wife Susan of Hogeye, and Dr. Roger Leung of Alexandria, Va.; and five grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday night, July 11, 2018, at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le.

An additional Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Methodist Church in Senath.

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark., is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
