Cynthia Ann Smith, 65, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Springdale, Ark.

She was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Beaumont, Texas, the daughter of Carl D. and Betty (Byerly) Wigley. She married Danny Smith on June 20, 1970, and they had recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. They lived in Nederland, Texas, until 1981 when they moved to Clear Lake, Texas. While in Clear Lake she worked at NASA on the Space Shuttle program.

In 1985 she and Danny moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where, after 17 years of marriage, she became a mom for the first time. She loved being a mom — she found her true calling! In 1990 she became a mom again. In 2017 she and Danny moved to Prairie Grove Ark., where she loved all the flowers, streams and lakes.

She loved being a mom so much, she and Danny decided to become foster parents. She was a foster mom for over 40 children through the years. She, also, loved to garden. When her husband wanted to build their own house, she was there hammering and nailing beside him.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Wigley.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Smith; one son, Bryan Daniel Smith; one daughter, Keelie Anne Miller and husband Jason; her mother, Betty Wigley; one brother, Carl D. Wigley and wife Sandy; one sister, Kathy McCollum and husband Mike.
