John Paul Bogan
John Paul Bogan, 92, “Jack” to those who knew him, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Valeria (Sadauskus) Bogan. He was the first of four children.
He proudly served in the Navy during World War II as a radio operator on a PB-J sub-hunter bomber in the South Atlantic. After the war he became a tool and die maker for 33 years, then taught shop at West Fork High School and Prairie Grove High School for 11 years before retiring in December 1991. He loved all sports, especially bowling which he participated in from 1946 to 2012. He was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dona (Downs); wife, Mary Jane (Murphy); sister, Dolores (Hudson); brother, James; and sister, Marianne (Webb).
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Atkinson) of 47 years of Fayetteville, Ark.; son, Tim of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter, Patricia (Kammer) of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Jeffrey of Charlotte; and three grandchildren, Robert, Erin and Seamus.
Graveside service was held Monday, July 30, 2018, at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
