Belated Birthday Wishes To Folks

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

This week’s column begins with a sincere apology for last week’s omission, but it just couldn’t be helped. So, to those who were to enjoy their upcoming birthdays, I send belated greetings to Darlene Cheatham, Herman Cox, Ruth Andrews, Ryan Cochran, Gerald Sparks, Ashlee Wofford, Dalton Bradley, Talon Taylor, Taylor Bradley, Kendrick Bentley, James Nash, and special Best Wishes to all, hoping you had the best ever, and they continue for many years to come.

A group of Seniors from the Center, visited Marietta Morris, Tuesday, on her birthday, at Katharine’s Place. They also visited Lois Norvell. Katharine’s Place is a very nice place, and all the residents are very well cared for.

The Seniors plan a trip on Thursday, Oct. 25, to the Walmart Museum, and lunch at Bentonville.

Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. the Halloween Carnival will be for Trick or Treaters, hopefully to keep them off the streets. The Carnival is in the Senior Center.

Time for some humor. A lawyer is cross-examining the doctor about whether he checked the pulse of the deceased before he signed the death certificate.

“No” he said, “I didn’t check his pulse.”

“And did you listen for a heart beat,” asked the lawyer.

“No I did not,” said the doctor.

“So,” said the lawyer, “When you signed the death certificate, you had not taken steps to make sure he was dead.”

And the doctor said, “Well, let me put it this way. The man’s brain was in a jar on my desk, and for all I know, he could be out practicing law somewhere.”

Happy birthday greetings to Phyllis (Mrs. Roger) Reed, Reba Tittle, Josh Myers, Austin Myers and Brayden Myers (twins), Courtney Madewell, Danny Rigsbee, Megan Sisemore, Candy Simmons, Willy Williams.

Happy anniversary to Jack and Nicci Patrick.

Happy years, all!
