Helen Frances Whitaker, 90, of Dutch Mills, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at The Maples of HarBer Meadows in Springdale, Ark.

She was born May 12, 1928, in Lincoln, Ark., the daughter of Leonard and Florence (Richmond) Smith. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church since 1961 and a long-time resident of Dutch Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Whitaker; her parents; and one sister, Peggy Rhea.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Umberson and her husband Donald of Morrow, Ark., Linda Walker and her husband Lonnie of Springdale and Diane Flynt and her husband Curtis of Clever, Mo.; one brother, Eugene Smith and wife Marcia of Greenbay, Wis.; one brotherin-law, Don Rhea of Pinion Hills, Calif.; seven grandchild­ren, Bobby Umberson, Traci Nelson, Shannan Cox, Tina Longshore, Stephanie White, Jason Umberson, and Ashley Moore; 11 great-grandchild­ren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 16, at Liberty Baptist Church. Burial was in Dutch Mills Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s were Mikel Cox, Logan Umberson, Cole Umberson, Rylee White, Braden Umberson, Austin White, Jaret Nelson, and Gavin Moore. Honoary Pallbearer was Carson Umberson. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dutch Mills Cemetery Associatio­n at any Simmons Bank.
