Enjoying Family On Sunday

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

It was crowded as usual, in Logan’s Friday evening, but Garret and Brittany (early birds) had reserved a table for us so we could sit comfortably, and visit, and feast on peanuts until finally being served the meal, which was worth waiting for. The occasion was a celebration of Johnny and Anna’s anniversary, and Karen’s birthday. Also enjoying the time were Keith and their other children, Caleb and Allee.

Sunday, the group, minus Garret and Brittany, met again, at Johnny and Anna’s home for dinner, the afternoon visiting, and some fishing. Since the noon downpour of rain canceled horseback riding, the afternoon was also spent in picking and singing. This is always an enjoyable time. We are fortunate to have so many members of the family with much musical talent.

Later in the afternoon, Johnny made a “perfect day” even more perfect, by serving watermelon. Delicious!

There is a saying, “You can’t be two places at once,” and Tuesday was one of those times for me, because of so many things happening. The one I really wanted to attend, was visiting with my only cousin, Lois Norvell, on her 101st birthday, but sadly was unable to. As far as we know, Lois is my only cousin left out of our huge family, making her, my brother James Myers and me the only surviving ones.

Happy birthday to Aiden Barbosa and Alexa Barbosa (twins), Mallory Pruitt and Noah Pruitt (twins), Rebecca Pitts, Noah Dewayne Pitts, Russell Morphis, Darryl Sisemore, Brian Roy, Rainy Laycox, Oda Wagnon.

Happy anniversary to Ramon and Felicia Ramirez. Happy years, all! And finally a thought for today, “Two things to remember in life, “Take care of your thoughts when you are alone” and “Take care of your words when you are with people.”
