Time Goes On, It’s Almost May

- Lincoln Lifestyles MARIE ROY WCEL Columnist

When the recent many months of political accusations ends (we hope), we thought that life would return to normal, but the past two months have proved differently. Even during the Great Depression of the ’30s and the War Years, we were free to come and go as we pleased. Not so, now; but time goes go on, and it is almost May. Springtime!

And May is clean air month, family wellness, family support, healthy vision, allergy-asthma awareness, arthritis, better sleep, breathe easy, high blood pressure education, better hearing and speech, dental awareness, stroke awareness, mental health, correct posture, bike, moving, reading, egg, salsa, hamburger, salad, older American, women’s health care, motorcycle safety, garage sale, and smile month.

We also celebrate V.E. Day on May 8, Mother’s Day on May 10, Memorial Day on May 25, and Armed Forces on May 16. Lots to be aware of and SMILE.

So-Here’s the Laugh:

Three guys are fishing when an angel appears. The first guy says, “I’ve suffered from back pain for years. Can you help me?” The angel touches the man’s back, and he feels instant relief.

The second guy points to his thick glasses and begs for a cure for his poor eyesight. When the angel tosses the lenses into the lake, the man gains 20/20 vision.

As the angel turns to the third fellow, he instantly recoils and screams, “Don’t touch me! I’m on disability.”

Happy birthday to Brandon Barbosa, Billie Tucker, Bridgette Davis, Allen Caswell, Brad Crudup, Orrin Hacker, Payton Powell, Stephanie Reed.

Happy anniversary to Craig and Sheryl Roy.

Happy years, all!

We have received news that we are never ready to hear, though we do realize it is coming at some time. Margie Sloan, of Garland, Texas, sent us word that her uncle, Vernon Yeager, had passed away in his sleep, after having had a good week. He was a faithful, dedicated Christian, and he leaves us with a lifetime of happy memories.
