We settle back for a few days with no bad news, then suddenly we hear of more covid problems and other ailments (plus the ever present political pains). No rest for the weary? Our One Help above is the only answer. He knows the answers and outcomes to be, and our daily blessings which we are so prone to ignore too much.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with a condition that started a bad cough that kept my throat sore and hurting, until recently, when the virus hit, the cough turned from hard, dry to one that felt like my throat was full of phlegm, and I could not get rid of it. Suddenly something told me, “Mom’s cough medicine” (side note: my Mother didn’t even own a measuring spoon or cup. She was the best cook ever, with a pinch of this or that). Her cough medicine recipe: Take some vinegar and enough honey to cut the sour taste, warm enough to dissolve the honey and stir well. Take a big spoon full twice a day, or as needed. My cough was gone after taking it for a week. My cough has left my throat real hoarse, but getting better. It has been a little embarrassing. One day I answered the phone, and the caller said, “Johnny?”

They are predicting really cold weather, which we can expect this time of year. After all, it is still February. Cuddle up and stay warm, if you can stay home, as advised. After all, spring will be here soon before we know it, the way time flies by.

Meanwhile, Happy Birthday greeting to Carol Pitts, Jeremy Lewis, Cathy Wiseman, Brian Freeman, Paige Przyszceypkewski, Gavin Pitts, Steven Taylor, Allee Lipford, Neil Helm, Keith Lipford, Ann Chambliss, Becky Griscom, Betty Pharr, Nicky Morris.

Happy years, all!
