Western Art Collector

New Decade

- Sincerely, Joshua Rose Editor

2020. It sounds like a science fiction movie. And like a science fiction there is incredible promise in what the future holds as we now turn to our March issue of Western Art Collector. What does this future have in store for us? Well, if the issue you are holding in your hands right now is any indication, then it is full of wonderfully talented artists creating new work for awaiting collectors, events that cover all aspects of this art market and new shows, new fairs, new auctions and new galleries all to keep our heads full of art to acquire for our collections.

We are also hearing of Western galleries searching the scene for additional locations so we can’t be more excited about what 2020 will bring. There are the usual major shows such as the Prix de West in Oklahoma, the Quest for the West at the Eitlejorg Museum in Indianapolis and The Russell this month in Montana; the new gallery shows, such as John Coleman’s long anticipated solo show at Legacy Gallery this fall; and then auctions across the country, beginning with the Scottsdale Art Auction next month.

And, of course, we are even more excited to bring all this to you each and every month. As the only monthly art magazine completely devoted to Western art we take this responsibility very seriously. And by this we mean that we feel it is our job to inform you of all the best events happening in the Western art market each month, especially the new ones. So, if there is something you would like us to know about, please email me at editor@westernartcollector.com.
