Three for One

Western Art Week is back on in Great Falls, Montana, this time with three great shows at one venue.

-

Less than a week before the start of Western Art Week— the annual citywide art event in Great Falls, Montana— the March show was dealt a blow when The Russell, the annual show and sale put on by the C.M. Russell Museum, was postponed in its entirety due to the current worldwide health crisis. A short time later two other Western Art Week shows made similar moves: the Out West Art Show & Sale

and the Great Western Living & Design Show.

But after some behind-thescenes tweaking, all three shows are back, and all will be at the same venue. The new dates are September 10 through 12, and the location is the 53,000-square-foot Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena at the Montana Expopark in Great Falls. Not only will the event be bigger, it represents a historic partnership as these three shows put on events under one roof.

The Russell will once again feature live quickdraws, a Friday night auction and a showstopping closer, The Russell Live, which will feature 137 lots of stunning Western art. Artists represented in the auction include Thomas Moran, Eanger Irving Couse, Andy Thomas, Jeremy Winborg and Charles M. Russell, whose March 19 birthday was typically at the center of

Western Art Week. Additionally, The Russell will include the Russell Skull Society of Artists Suites, featuring many of the top Western artists working today.

“Thanks to this unified effort and the unwavering support of artists, consignors, sponsors and supporters, The Russell 2020 and the rescheduled series of events for Western Art Week is sure to be a weekend to remember,” says Duane Braaten, director of art and philanthropy at the C.M. Russell Museum.

The Out West Art Show & Sale

will also feature a quickdraw and auction, as well as artist booths offering a wide variety of Western art. Showing alongside Out West are Montana Miniatures, a silent auction, and Montana Masters,a

focused presentation of 17 artists. Both Montana Miniatures and Montana Masters are presented by Bitterroot Frames out of Hamilton, Montana.

The Great Western Living & Design Show will feature more than 90 vendors showing a wide variety of materials from art and jewelry to fashion and decorative objects.
