Church yard sale set

The women’s ministry at the Gravette First Assembly of God Church will hold a yard sale at the church Thursday through Saturday, June 9-11. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds go to women’s ministry projects, including missions and projects for senior shut-ins at Christmas. Upholstery fabric will be offered at the yard sale.

Vacation Bible School slated at Heritage Baptist

Heritage Baptist Church at 307 Fourth Ave., S.E., in Gravette will have its annual Vacation Bible School, June 13-17 from 6 to 8 p.m. for children in kindergart­en through sixth grade. The theme is “Submerged — Finding Truth Below the Surface.” There will be Bible lessons, crafts, games and snacks. Teams will be the Starfish, Seahorses and Sharks. Maysville Bible Church holding cookout, sing

Maysville Bible Church on Highway 72 just east of Maysville is sponsoring a hamburger cookout and gospel sing on Saturday, June 11, at 5 p.m., at the church. The church is also sponsoring a nonperisha­ble food drive at Maysville Days on June 18, at the Maysville community center. All nonperisha­ble food items may be brought to the event anytime during the day and placed in a box which will be marked with signs on the community center grounds. All donated items will be used to replenish the church’s food pantry.

Maysville pageant entries being sought

Pageant entries are being sought for Maysville Day June 18. Forms are posted online at Maysville Days Facebook page or pick one up at the Maysville HandiStop.

Men’s breakfast served

Summer Reading underway in Gentry

Gentry Public Library is holding its summer reading program, “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” from 1 to 3 p.m. each Wednesday through July 27. The program includes themed guests, games and activities, and a story time followed by a movie and popcorn. The June 8 theme is “Back to the ’50s” and rumor has it that Elvis might make an appearance. Participan­ts will receive a time sheet to record their time spent reading, and every child completing the time sheet will be invited to a special party with awards and certificat­es at the conclusion of the summer program. Summer Reading underway in Gravette

The Gravette Public Library, located at 119 Main St., S.E., is holding its summer reading program, “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!,” each week. Sessions will focus on a different sport or athletic activity and all sessions will not be on the same day of the week. Next week’s session, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, will focus on tennis, with retired tennis pro Paul Pautsch as leader. The next session, on frisbee golf, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, June 20, with Garry Long as leader.

Summer Reading in Decatur underway

The Iva Jane Peek Public Library in Decatur is holding its summer reading program, “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!,” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday in June. Sulphur Springs Library announces summer hours

New summer hours at the Sulphur Springs Public Library are 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The hours are in coordinati­on with the “Seamless Summer” lunch program held in the same building complex.

OCH blood drive planned

A blood drive will be held at Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 13. The bloodmobil­e will stay longer if more donors have signed up. The blood drive will take place in the OCH of Gravette Hospital parking lot. Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is experienci­ng a shortage earlier than normal this year and asks that donors help them reach their goals.
