GHS class of 1946 to gather Aug. 13

The Gravette High School class of 1946 will hold its 70th anniversar­y reunion on Saturday, Aug. 13. The class will meet for the pancake breakfast at the school cafeteria between 8 and 9 a.m. Class members will then visit the Gravette Historical Museum and attend the Gravette Day Parade. The class will meet for lunch and fellowship at 1 p.m., at the home of Kenneth and Erma Blackburn, 2445 W. Centerton Blvd., Centerton. RSVP by calling 417-527-3975.

Yoga for school supplies

A free yoga class is being offered in exchange for a school supply donation, with all supplies collected being donated to the Gentry Public School District. New Revival concert set

The New Revival Quartet will perform a concert at the Gravette First Assembly of God Church, on Arkansas 72, west of town, at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 31. The public is invited to come out and enjoy the music.

Gravette High School has announced its first Freshman Boot Camp, an opportunit­y for members of the class of 2020 to spend a day at the high school and ask questions and become comfortabl­e with their new school. Students will get to know upperclass­men who will mentor them throughout their freshman year, tour the building and ask questions about what it is like to be at GHS. Freshman Boot Camp is being held Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registrati­on is available on the district Facebook page and the district website.

Men’s breakfast slated

First Baptist Church of Highfill will hold a men’s fellowship breakfast on the first Saturday of each quarter at 8 a.m. All adult and youth men are welcome. For informatio­n, call 479-233-0242.

Gravette farmers’ market scheduled on Saturdays

Gravette farmers’ market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Old Town Park. Offerings include locally grown fruits and vegetables, beef and pork, eggs, a variety of plants, baked goods, jams and jellies. Local crafts are also featured. Market vendors set up booths in the covered pavilion at the park.

Gentry farmers’ market open three days a week

The farmers’ market in Gentry is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the south side (along Arkansas 12) parking area of Gentry City Park. Farmers may set up between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Decatur farmers’ market will continue operations at the Decatur Coop True Value Hardware store parking lot every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Homegrown fruits and vegetables, canned goods and handmade craft are available for purchase. Booth space is available for $5, limited to two spaces per vendor. For more informatio­n, call 572-3399.

NWA Riding Club plans bi-weekly play days

NWA Riding Club is holding bi-weekly play days at a new arena located at 16949 Arkansas 102 West in Decatur. Play days begin with exhibition rides at 4:30 p.m., followed by regular events at 5 p.m. Events include pole bending, keyhole, barrel racing, goat tying (tentative) and flag racing (tentative). Highfill food pantry open twice a month

Maysville pantry open first Saturday of month

A free food distributi­on is held the first Saturday of each month at the Maysville Bible Church, Arkansas 72 and Cunningham, in Maysville. Anyone who is in need of food is welcome to attend.

Decatur United Methodist Church has a community food pantry open the first and third Thursday of each month. The only requiremen­t for the pantry is that one live in the 72722 Zip code area. An identifica­tion and a piece of mail showing one’s residence in the Decatur area are required. A USDA commodity program is available which is income-based. Those wishing to do so can fill out an applicatio­n to see if they qualify.

Lions Club meetings set

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis Club plans breakfast meetings

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.
