Police seek man in connection with shopliftin­g

GENTRY — Police in Gentry are looking for a man driving a green van who allegedly shoplifted several items from the E-Z Mart store on Main Street in Gentry on Aug. 13.

The man was described as a white male in his 40s or 50s wearing a black T-shirt with a “Call of Duty” logo, black jeans and a green ball cap. He was driving a green minivan with a front tag with the words “I love….” His first name may be David, according to a statement given to police by a store employee.

According to police reports, the man is alleged to have taken some octane booster and over-the-counter pain medication­s and put them in his pocket before leaving the store. Police recovered the empty octane booster can from the trash, according to reports.

In addition, police have store video of the man putting the items in his pocket, reports say.

Police are checking leads to locate the man in the videos and are asking anyone with informatio­n about the crime to contact the Gentry Police Department at 479-736-8400.

A two-vehicle accident with possible injuries occurred on Aug. 17 at the corner of S. Third Street (Arkansas Highway 12) and S. Collins Ave. The accident occurred at approximat­ely 2:30 p.m., according to reports.

Police reports allege that Rachel Nofire, driving a Dodge Dart, failed to yield to a westbound Ford Mustang driven by Chara Sullins.

Nofire was cited for failure to yield, according to police reports. Sullins then requested medical attention related to a knee injured in the accident.
