David E. Craig, Jr.

David E. Craig, Jr., 45, died July 3, 2016, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born June 13, 1971. He worked as an electricia­n and in constructi­on most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Fiddler; his father, David Eugene Craig, Sr.; his wife, Jennifer Gilgen Craig; and a stepbrothe­r, Roger Demoss.

He is survived by his son, Newlly Craig of Gravette; a daughter, Samantha Lee Ryan of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his stepdad, Kit Phillips; and three stepbrothe­rs, Travis Craig and Rodger Phillips from Gravette, Steven Demoss from Bella Vista; two stepsister­s Kimberly Phillips from Jay, Okla., and Alice Phillips Bien from Gravette.

Graveside services will be held at Lee Cemetery, northwest of Gravette, on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m., with Jheri Roberts officiatin­g.

Don Crawley

Don Crawley, 91, of Maysville, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 10, 1925, on the family farm near Maysville, one of three children born to William Clifford and Tena Toma (All) Crawley. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1943 graduate of Southwest City High School. He enlisted in the Untied States Army Air Corps during WWII, performing 35 missions as an aerial tail gunner with the 447th Bomb Group, 3rd Air Division, Eighth Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he returned home to resume work on the family dairy and poultry farm. He married Jewel Swart on Oct. 1, 1955, in Tulsa, Okla., and to this union three sons were born. He was a member and elder of the Gravette Church of Christ and served on numerous state, county and national agricultur­al boards. He enjoyed daily life on the farm and was an avid Cardinal and Razorback fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Max Crawley.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Jewel Crawley of the home; three sons, Russell Crawley and wife Melinda of Maysville, Dennis Crawley and wife Ellen of Nixa, Mo., and Tim Crawley and wife Nikki of Maysville; nine grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; a sister, Muriel Ford and husband James of Grove, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Crawley of Hiwasse.

Funeral services were Sept. 17 at the Church of Christ in Gravette, with Robert Lawson officiatin­g. Burial followed at the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville. Arrangemen­ts were by Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo.

Gene Lowry Douglas

Gene Lowry Douglas, 92, of Gravette, died Sept. 9, 2016.

He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Benton County to Paul Oliver Douglas and Ella Matt Callis Douglas. He was a carpenter who built many homes in the area. He was also an accomplish­ed welder and worked on ships during WWII in Oakland, Calif. In his retirement years, he became a beef rancher and continued until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet ImoJean Duncan Douglas; and two sisters, Eveline Curtis and Billie Keith.

He is survived by his brother, Calvin of Bentonvill­e; four children, Brenda Herbaugh and husband Larry of Prattville, Ala., David Douglas and wife Anastasia Strokova of Elm Springs, Ronald Douglas, and Stephen Douglas and wife Penny of Gravette; eight grandchild­ren, Karen Herbaugh, Phillip Herbaugh, Debbie Mazenko, Jennifer Arbuckle, Jon David Douglas, Chris Douglas, Chad Douglas, Shane Douglas; 12 greatgrand­children, Mark and Lisa Mazenko, Dane and Raef Arbuckle, Luke, Ellie and Matthew Douglas, Sydney and Brennen Douglas, Reid Dubois, Nick Douglas and Stephen Douglas.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, Bella Vista. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.

Frances Jeanette Hickman

Frances Jeanette Hickman, 75, of Gentry, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born July 14, 1941, to Ray Peterson and Junie ( Welch) Peterson. She lived most of her life in Gentry and worked for Gentry Schools in the cafeteria for more than 22 years. She and Bob Hickman were married in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Charles Ennis.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home; sister, Carolyn Trammell of Maysville; her children, Judy Ennis of Colcord, Okla., Sandy Duncan and husband Bud of Colcord, Angela Harper of Tulsa, Okla.; her stepsons, Mike Hickman and wife Deann of Shawnee, Okla., Brian Hickman and wife Megan of Long Beach, Calif., Kevin Hickman and wife Debbie of Bella Vista; 15 grandchild­ren; and 19 great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla., with burial at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown. Arrangemen­ts were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Norma Margie Taylor

Norma Margie Taylor, 87, of Gentry, died Sept. 12, 2016, at Siloam Springs Nurs ing and Rehab, Siloam Springs.

She was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Ketchum, Okla., to John Ashley Scott and Lula Mae ( Willhite) Scott. She and Ray Taylor were married in September of 1945. She retired from Peterson Farms. She was a member of Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; two infant sons; and daughter, Mary Lou.

Survivors include her grandchild­ren, Christina Stafford of Parsons, Kan., and Shelley Jackson and husband Brad of Gentry; great-grandchild­ren Jake Holbert and wife Ashley, Cody Holbert, Corey Jackson, Brittany Jackson, Casey Jackson, Shannon Jackson, Kayla Rankin, Jerred Rankin and Brayden Jackson; and numerous great-great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 16, at Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla. Burial followed at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City. Arrangemen­ts were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
