OCH acquires Jay Family Medical Clinic

-

GRAVETTE — Effective January 1, 2017, the Ozarks Community Hospital Health System will own and operate Jay Family Medical Clinic under a new name, OCH Jay Family Medicine Clinic.

The rural health clinic, located at 2485 N. Main in Jay, Okla., includes family practice providers Richard H. Tidwell, M.D., and Shounda Turley, APRN-CNP.

“Our health system has been considering Oklahoma expansion for several years now,” said Bernadette Losh, chief clinics officer. “When the opportunity to work with Dr. Tidwell became available, we were beyond thrilled. Not only does it fit our growth model and match our mission to serve the underserved, the addition of this clinic now means OCH is a tri-state health system.”

After the first of the year, OCH Jay Family Medicine Clinic will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“I am very happy and encouraged to join the OCH Health System,” says Dr. Tidwell. “Changes in the healthcare industry made the future of our clinic uncertain. I know working with OCH will provide a solid future while allowing me the ability to focus on serving my current patients in Delaware County and continue providing services to those who need it most.”

Dr. Tidwell founded Jay Family Medical Clinic in 2004. He received his education from

the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. In 2008 he was awarded “Physician of the Year” by Integris Grove General Hospital. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, Oklahoma Academy of Family Practice and the Oklahoma State Medical Association. Shounds Turley, APRN-CNP, received her education from Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the nursing field.

Jay, Okla., has a population of 2,482. It is located 23 miles from the OCH of Gravette facility.
