Ellis signs to play soccer at Evangel

GENTRY — Amber Ellis, a Gentry High School senior, signed a letter of intent to attend Evangel University at Springfiel­d this fall and to play soccer for the school. She signed documents in the company of family members, friends, teachers and coaches (past, present and future) at a special signing ceremony held in the Pioneer Activities Complex on March 15.

Ellis has been a high scorer — setting a record for the number of goals scored — for the Gentry girls’ soccer team and has won numerous all-conference and allstate honors. She was also a member of the 2015 state championsh­ip team and the 2016 runner up team in Class 4A state soccer competitio­n.

She is the daughter of Jennifer and Mike Lundholm of Gentry.
