Gravette Church of God (Holiness) plans revival

The Church of God (Holiness) at Fourth and Atlanta in Gravette will be in revival from April 25-30. The speaker will be the Rev. Wallace Thorton of Somerset, Ky. He, along with his wife Carolyn, and daughter, Angela, also will sing. Daniel Cemetery cleanup slated Saturday

The annual cemetery cleanup at the Daniel Cemetery on N. Mount Pleasant Road in Gravette will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Volunteers are needed. Bring your tools for the cleanup. For informatio­n, call 479-936-4294.

Maysville Community Building fundraiser set

The Maysville Community Building spring fundraiser will be April 29. A chuckwagon dinner will be served, consisting of a hamburger with all the trimmings, cole slaw, baked beans and a drink, for $6. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will also be homemade pies and cakes available for purchase and an old-fashioned cakewalk for the kids to enjoy.

Ministeria­l Alliance plans prayer breakfast

On Monday, May 1, Gentry First Assembly of God will host the Ministeria­l Alliance Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Pastor Michael Powers will be sharing about the new community outreach of GFA Food Pantry, followed by a time of prayer. Everyone is invited to attend the breakfast and tour the food pantry. The church is at 821 East Main St., just east of the Dollar General store.

Personal finance workshops continue

A series of personal finance workshops is continuing at 10 a.m. each Saturday through April at the Gravette Public Library, 119 Main St., S.E., in Gravette. The topics for April 22 are Saving vs. Investment Strategies and Estate Planning 101. This will be followed by a workshop on Mortgage Basics on April 29. Earth Day observance planned at Eagle Watch

Earth Day will be observed with special programs at the Eagle Watch Nature Trail in Gentry from 9:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 22. University of Arkansas professor Don Steinkraus will speak about the importance of butterflie­s and moths to the ecosystem; and Lynn Sciumbato, owner and operator of Morningsta­r Wildlife Rehabilita­tion Center in Gravette, will show live raptors and speak about the birds and her work as an animal rehabilita­tor. Those who volunteer will also be able to help plant trees and wildflower­s at the nature area. Eagle Watch is one mile west of Gentry on Arkansas 12. In case of rain, the presentati­ons will be moved to the Gentry Fire Station.

Quilt class reschedule­d for Thursday church

The free class for area quilters and crafters was changed from its regular third Saturday schedule in April because of the Easter holiday. This month’s class will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving St., S.W., in Gravette. Instructio­n will be given on a quilt block, and a “show and tell” session will be held. Bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Pee Wee Cheerleade­rs holding annual sign-ups

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleade­rs are holding their annual sign-ups for the 2017 season. Sign-ups continue on May 27 from noon to 3 p.m., at the Gravette Upper Elementary playground picnic tables. GFA Food Pantry open Mondays in Gentry

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry.
