Anita Joyce Larson

Anita Joyce Larson, 84, of Springdale, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le.

She was born Sept. 5,

1935, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Clarence Martin and Ethel Bolton-Martin. She graduated from Montebello High School in 1948. She owned and operated the Gallery Cafe in Decatur for many years and has owned several successful restaurant­s.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Rapoza.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Arte Larson of the home; two sons, Arte Larson III of Fayettevil­le, and Mike Larson of Bella Vista; three daughters, Cari DeLaughter and husband Rick of Springdale, Marie Kane and husband Kelly of Gravette, and Patty Yattaw and husband Tom of Colorado; 11 grandchild­ren; and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, at the First Christian Church in Gravette. Arrangemen­ts are by Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.

Edna Mae Miller

Edna Mae Miller, 89, of Gentry, died May 13, 2017, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab in Siloam Springs.

She was born August

10, 1927, in Newtown,

Mo., to Henry F. Jacobson and Bonnie J. (Markel) Jacobson. She married James Miller on August 1, 1952, and they were long-time residents of Gentry. She was a homemaker and an accomplish­ed seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.

Survivors include her sons, James Miller and wife Dana of Boise, Idaho, and John Miller of Gentry; a daughter, Jody Miller and husband Garry of Gentry; five grandchild­ren, Jennifer Robins, Bonnie Mitchum, Emma Miller, Alexandra Miller and Allie Miller; and two greatgrand­children, Jacob Dupuy and Addison Robins.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 18, at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Arrangemen­ts are by Wasson Funeral Home.

Danny Varner

Danny Varner, 66, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born Dec.

31, 1950, in Gravette, to

Finis Varner and Ruie Branstuder Varner. He graduated from Gravette High School and, for more than 30 years, served and protected the people of Benton County as a lawenforce­ment officer. He retired in 2005 as a sergeant in the Bella Vista criminal investigat­ions division.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph Varner; a brother, Johnny Varner; a daughter, Britthney Varner of Bono; and a grandson, Shannon Williams, Jr., of Bentonvill­e.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 31 years, Sallie Stroud, of the home; a daughter, Brandi Varner of Jonesboro; stepdaught­ers, Melissa Williams of Springdale and Hannah Savage of Fayettevil­le; nine grandchild­ren, Bailey, Dane, Mollie, Shelbye, Jax, Loren, Graden, Olivia and Anna; four sisters, Ona Foster and Cleta Schaapveld of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jackie Burgess of Carrolton, Texas, and Monnie Woolard of Sulphur Springs; and a brother; Clinton Dale Jordon of Colcord, Okla.

Services will be held at the Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. A visitation with family and friends will begin at 1 p.m. There will be no viewing or graveside service. Arrangemen­ts are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
