Gentry Band to sell products to raise funds for upcoming contest fees, travel

- Staff Reports

GENTRY — Gentry Marching Band is raising money by selling Blue & Gold products to support the 2017 Marching Contest season. This year, the band will participate in five marching competitions and needs help to fund travel, contest fees and meals for band members.

“Our band members work and practice really hard in order to represent our district and community well,” said DeNisha McCollum, a member of the band boosters. “Last year, these efforts paid off because the band was invited to compete at the invitation-only Arkansas State Marching contest. Students are already working hard to earn a repeat opportunity this year.We thank you in advance for your support during this important fund raiser.”

Blue & Gold products include sausage, chicken tenderloin fritters and thicksliced bacon. These products are unique and not available for purchase in stores.

Products may be purchased between Sept. 11 and Sept. 25.

During these two weeks, customers who order a “helping” of these Blue & Gold products will also be “helping” the Gentry Band.

“Blue & Gold is the perfect fundraiser for us,” said Crystal Wood, event coordinator. “Everyone loves these products.”
