DECATUR — The Decatur Bulldog junior high football team was at home at Bulldog Stadium on Sept. 28 to face the Bulldogs from Jay, Okla. Unfortunately for Decatur, the Jay Bulldogs prevailed and walked away with the victory, 46-6.

Jay scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. Two of the three pointafter attempts were successful, with one blocked by Decatur. The Junior Bulldogs’ only touchdown came on a 40-yard run by Andres Revolorio. The point after went wide and was no good, making it a 20-6 contest.

The Jay Bulldogs scored twice more in the second quarter with one of their PATs going wide, making the halftime score 33-6. Two more touchdowns in the second half sealed the deal for the Jay Bulldogs.

Roger Hernandez was able to block one of Jay’s point-after attempts late in the third quarter, deflecting the ball toward the right sideline.

In the senior high game, the Decatur Bulldogs traveled south Sept. 29 to take on the Magazine Rattlers at Rattler Stadium. This was the Bulldogs’ second conference game of the season.

The Bulldogs were without the services of wide receiver Taylor Haisman, who sustained a knee injury during the second quarter of the Decatur-Mountainburg contest Sept. 22.

The Rattlers scored five touchdowns and a conversion while holding the Bulldogs scoreless throughout the first half. Neither team scored in the second half. The final score was Magazine 36, Decatur 0.
