Mary Virginia Patterson
Mary Virginia Patterson, 93, formerly of Siloam Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at the Concordia Nursing Home in Bella Vista.
She was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Springdale, to Samuel Loyd Horn and Nettie Mae Kilburn Horn. She was the widow of the late Clarence Paul Patterson, whom she married on Dec. 2, 1963, in Miami, Okla. She worked for HEHR International making windows and screens. She enjoyed growing flowers in her garden, fishing and doing broomstick crocheting.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Henry and Dennis Thompson; one daughter, Helen Buchanan; one stepdaughter, Naomi Place; two sisters, Loraine Horn and Alice Freeman; one brother, Loyd Horn; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie Davis of Gentry; three sons, Floyd E. Thompson of Woodston, Kan., Donald F. Thompson of Wichita, Kan., and Clyde D. Thompson of Florida; one stepson, Lonnie Patterson of Newton, Kan.; one sister, Lena Collins of Springdale; 19 grandchildren; and numerous greatgrandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 13, with Kevin Boldra officiating.
Graveside services were held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kan., on Saturday, Oct. 14, under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
