Rose Marie Mitchell Crose, 79, of Gravette, died Oct. 9, 2017.

She was born to William Arthur and Edna S. Mitchell on Nov. 30, 1937, in Beloit, Kan. She graduated from Greeley County High School in 1955. After graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy (Waves) and served as a clerk during her enlistment period. While in the Navy she met Clifford Crose and spent the next 51 years serving beside him as a Navy wife. After her husband retired from the Navy and her family settled in Gravette, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Gravette Medical Center for 35 years. She volunteere­d with her son, Chris Crose, at Imagine Before and After School Care. She served in American Legion Post 25 for several years with positions of president of Women’s Auxiliary, chaplain and historian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, BJ Mitchell; and a sister, Carol Lee Fultz.

She is survived by three sisters and three brothers, Lewis R. (Joe) and Pat Mitchell of Lake City, Fla., William E. (Pug) and Pat Mitchell of Tribune, Kan., David A. and Joyce Mitchell of Lawrence, Kan., Lucille A. Mitchell Bitner and Roger of Marion, Kan., Kathy and Gerald Slover of Jacksonvil­le, Fla., Constance Hays and Sid of Topeka, Kan.; her children, Will Crose and wife Debra of Gravette, Paul Crose of Gravette, Teresa Reynolds and husband Wayne of Gravette, Dean of Arkansas, Chris Crose and wife Tina of Gravette, Tammy Boon and husband Bryan of Gravette; and many grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista.
