Patsy L. Davis
Patsy L. Davis, of Rogers, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017.
She was born on July 7, 1939, in Shawnee, Okla., to Willard G. Muncy and Edith O. Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Basil Smith; one sister; and six brothers.
She is survived by five children, Donna Hoyt of Neosho, Mo.; Darlene Kauffman and husband Dennis of Waynesville, Mo., Barbara Farley of Gravette, Billy Davis and wife Sharon of Springdale, and Jimmy Davis of Siloam Springs; 13 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; a lifelong friend, Sue Walker of Pea Ridge; four sisters and a brother, Sue Eilar, Barbara Quinn, Linda Evans, Judy Murray and Donnie Smith, all of California.
Graveside service was Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with Robert Ward officiating. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home of Gravette.
Carolyn Sue Newton
Carolyn Sue Newton, 79, of Gentry, died Thursday, Dec. 14, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital, Siloam Springs.
She was born Oct. 4, 1938, in De Bastrop Township (Arkansas) to Andrew Compton and Lucille Whittington-Compton. She married Harold Newton in Miami, Okla., on Aug. 19, 1977. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, being artistic with wood, and singing. She volunteered at the TLC for many years and cut hair at the local nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Ott; a sister, Patricia Ott; and one grandchild, Latonya Grover.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three daughters, Deborah Melton and husband Almus of Bella Vista, Cheryl Holm and husband Gerald of Gentry, and Crystal Reiter of Jay, Okla.; four sisters, Nancy Brumbaugh of Jay, Betty Miosi of Burleson, Texas; Kathyleen Keaton of Jay, and Joy Stephenson of Surprise, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Shannon Holm, Jennifer Roberts, Brian Adams, Heather King and Dalton Ott; and seven greatgrandchildren.
A funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 15, in the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel, with Jonathan Belew and Sam Whatley officiating. Burial was at the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
