Barr joins Northwest Health Urgent Care in Siloam Springs

SILOAM SPRINGS — Stefanie Barr, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has joined the Allied Health profession­als staff at Northwest Health and treats patients at Northwest Health Urgent Care in Siloam Springs as a family nurse practition­er.

Barr received her master’s degree from Chamberlai­n College of Nursing in Downers Grove, Ill., with honors in 2017 as a family nurse practition­er. She completed her bachelor of science degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., in 2012. Barr began her career as a registered nurse specializi­ng in emergency medicine.

Barr’s experience also includes emergency medicine travel nursing in multiple states. She holds a national certificat­ion from the American Academy of Nurse Practition­ers. She is an active member of the American Nurses Associatio­n, American Associatio­n of

Nurse Practition­ers, Arkansas Nurse Practition­er Associatio­n, Associatio­n of Oklahoma Nurse Practition­ers and Sigma Theta Tau Internatio­nal Honor Society of Nursing.

“As the need for urgent care services grows, we are very pleased to add Stefanie Barr to our health staff,” said Siloam Springs Regional Hospital chief executive officer Patrick Kerrwood. “Her experience and skills bring the right touch of quality compassion­ate care that our patients deserve.”

“Taking care of patients is the best part of my job,” Barr said. “I enjoy working in urgent care because it allows me to keep up my ER skills and help others.”

With winter in full force, Barr’s best advice to stay healthy is to use hand hygiene. “Wash, wash, wash your hands,” she said.

Barr and her family are residents of Locust Grove, Okla., where they live on 40 acres. In her free time, Barr enjoys being with her family.

“My husband and I have a daughter, Stella, age 2, and a new son on the way,” she said. “We enjoy the outdoors with our basset hound, Isie, and spending time with our family.”

For those with a minor illness or injury, Northwest Health Urgent Care in Siloam Springs is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. MondaysSat­urdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
