Williams joins Northwest Health Urgent Care staff

-

Nita Williams, APN, recently joined the Allied Health Professionals staff at Northwest Health Urgent Care in Siloam Springs and is now available to see patients.

As an advanced practice nurse, Williams’ experience has equipped her to treat patients for a variety of medical needs in an urgent care setting.

“I enjoy seeing people and feeling like I am making a difference even if it is a small one in someone’s life,” Williams said.

Before joining Northwest Health Urgent Care, Williams was a registered nurse at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She also served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve for four years. Inspired by her mother’s career as a nurse, Williams followed her lead into healthcare.

“My mom was my hero,” Williams said. “She was an old nurse that taught me from the time I was a young child that a good nurse treats everyone like family. I want to make her proud of me and do the right thing all the time.”

Originally from Arkansas, Williams said she is enjoying her new role in Siloam Springs after moving to the area.

“I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to work in such a fun, loving place as the Northwest Health system,” she said. “I love the small town community feeling that working here in Siloam Springs has. Everyone I have met has been so helpful to me and my family for our relocation from central Arkansas. I am an Arkansas native, so being able to stay in Arkansas and work here is the biggest thing for me. I am a firm believer there is no place like home.”

Williams’ husband, Alonzo, also is in healthcare and works as a respiratory therapist. They have three children: Katie, 23, is on active duty in the Navy; Ariel, 21, is a senior at the University of Tennessee; and Trey, 19, is attending school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Williams said the family enjoys spending time together with their three dogs and they also enjoy the outdoors.

For those looking for fun in the sun this summer, Williams shared a few tips to help stay safe and healthy: ■ Stay hydrated;

■ Wear sunscreen; ■ And do not text and drive.
