GRAVETTE — The city of Gravette and the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the annual fireworks show this year but, because of the covid-19 pandemic, the format will be somewhat different. The location has been changed from Pop Allum Park to the field just east of the high school. The show will begin at dusk, or approximately 9 p.m.

City officials have advised that anyone parking in the Gravette High School parking lot should be able to have an excellent view of the evening’s show. And, an announcement has been made that they’ve worked with the fireworks company to upgrade the show with an additional 500 shells so it should be one of the largest displays the city has hosted.

Guests at the fireworks show are asked to stay in their vehicles. There will not be food vendors, games or a DJ this year, but the fireworks display should be one of the best around.

“Thank you to the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us to make the show even bigger and better,” the city’s post said. “We believe the fireworks should be visible from any of the schools and anywhere in the general area of the high school and we are excited to see the display! We know this is not the celebration you’re used to, but we are confident it will still be an enjoyable event.”

Families wishing to have their own individual fireworks shows are advised that shooting off fireworks is allowed from Tuesday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 7, between the hours of noon and midnight.
