School board OKs position changes

GENTRY — Gentry’s school board, at its June 15 meeting, approved the following personnel changes for the upcoming school year:

Sara Philpott was hired as an ESL interventi­onist and Opportunit­y Culture Reach Associate.

Amanda Dalton resigned as a middle school counselor.

Kendra Pettit Crouse was transferre­d to teach science at the high school; Linda Johnson was transferre­d to supervise inschool suspension at the high school and middle school.

Austin Williams and Dianna Lynn Baer were hired as special education teachers, Jordan Toland to teach computer science and robotics at middle school and high school, Cody Napier to teach high school science and be the assistant football and baseball coach, and Melinda Montgomery as the K-12 dyslexia specialist.

Ethan Ramsey resigned from his stipend position as the seventh-grade football coach.

Kaley Nelson was approved for an Opportunit­y Culture Reach Associate stipend and Megan Oaks as the ESOL coordinato­r.

Kristen Smartt was hired as an associate principal on special assignment from the superinten­dent. Ethan Ramsey is moving to eighth-grade science and Kim Edmondson to seventh-grade English.

Jamie Johnson will be the head girls’ soccer coach and boys’ assistant coach.

Drew Tingly will be a registered volunteer head boys’ soccer coach and the assistant girls’ soccer coach.

Dorie Davenport will move to the middle school counselor position.
