SPRINGTOWN — Prior to the council meeting on June 9, a public hearing was held at 6 p.m., to hear any public concerns related to the closing of roadways as described in Ordinance 2020-01. No members of the public appeared to voice concerns.

End-of-year financial summaries for General and Street funds were reviewed by the council and accepted.

An ordinance vacating an alley and streets in the town was adopted. The ordinance relates to an unused alleyway and streets on the south side of Arkansas Highway 12 in the town. A petition to vacate alleys and streets was presented to the council from property owners Paul Lemke, Barbara Goodman, Terry and Christi Willson and Erin McCollum in March.

It was announced that flagpoles had not been ordered but will be soon, with money used from the park fund. It was stated that the flags on Main Street had become tattered and need to be replaced. Mayor Terri Glenn said the town will purchase better quality flags in the future.

The July meeting was scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday (after press time).
