Bulldogs fall to Panthers, Diamonds

DECATUR — The Decatur Bulldogs continued their home game schedule Thursday night when the Yellville-Summit Panthers came to town for another conference contest.

Yellville jumped out in front early in the contest and continued to roll over the Bulldogs, ending the first quarter leading by seven.

Decatur picked up the pace in the second quarter, closing the gap to five toward the end of the half. But a run by the Panthers gave Yellville a 36-24 lead going into the break.

Yellville continued to dominate the game, outscoring Decatur 14-11 in the third and 18-13 in the fourth quarter to take the conference win, 68-48, over the Decatur Bulldogs.

Two Bulldogs were in double figures for the night. Christian Ramirez had 14 points, while Enrique Rubi had 10. JJ Herrera and Deegan Brooks had six points each, followed by Edger Herrera with four, Carlos Hernandez and Bryson Funk with three and Trevor Girdner with two.

For Yellville-Summit, David Derosier had an amazing night, chalking up a total of 37 points. Other Panthers contributi­ng to the scoring effort included Cody Sutterfiel­d with nine, Robert Howell with eight, Ben Cantrall with seven, Holiday Derosier with five and Briten Roberts with two.

Decatur was back in action Friday night for a short road trip to Rogers to take on the Diamonds of Arkansas Arts Academy in the third conference game of the week. The Diamonds took the win, 80-55, over the Bulldogs

The junior high Bulldogs walked away with a win over the junior high Diamonds, 33-30.
