Extension Homemakers group sets organizational meeting

GRAVETTE — Are you passionate about self-reliance and looking to join together with other likeminded people in your community? Two years ago, a few ladies met at a canning demonstration and enjoyed it so much they wanted to get together regularly to engage in learning heritage skills and doing self-reliance type activities.

Those ladies are now taking the first step to form an Extension Homemaker Club and are inviting anyone interested to join them in this endeavor.

“The opportunity has finally arrived to get a U of A extension homemaker club off the ground and bring a community group together in Gravette to support the community, educate ourselves on these skills and actively engage in these projects,” said Kimee Powers, one of those interested in forming a club.

An organizational meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Gravette Community Building, the old home building at 502 Charlotte St. S.E. Interested persons are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. to meet and mingle, and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Nicole Jowers at 318-243-6855.

Extension Homemaker Clubs are a part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. The U of A System Division of Agriculture is an equal opportunity/equal access/affirmative action institution. If you require a reasonable accommodation to participate or need materials in another format, you may contact your County Extension Office (or another appropriate office) as soon as possible.
