Homer Morris Jackson

Homer Morris Jackson, 85, of Hiwasse, died Sept. 29, 2021, at OCH Hospital in Gravette.

He was born Nov. 13, 1935, in the town of Kinston, Ala., to Homer and Esther Mae (Maddox) Jackson. He was a resident of Northwest Arkansas since 1978 and worked in auto parts management for most of his career. He was a hard worker and an active man who grew a garden every year and enjoyed cutting firewood for a winter fire. He was a Sunday school teacher and retired deacon at First Baptist Church in Hiwasse, where he and his wife Linda were members for more than 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Horace Jackson and William Hollis Jackson; and his sister, Ida Willene Purvis.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jackson of the home; sister, June Turner of Brooksvill­e, Fla.; son, Rodney Jackson (Mary) of Neosho, Mo.; daughter, Christie McCaffrey (Jeff) of Gravette; daughter, Lori Puckett (Wes) of Bella Vista; two granddaugh­ters, Lindsay McCortney (Jeff) of Saint Charles, Ill., and Taylor McCaffrey (Derek Odom) of Springdale; three grandsons, Raymond Jackson (Ramona) of Lincoln, Samuel Harrington of Bella Vista, and Steven Jordan of Neosho.

Visitation was at Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory on Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, on Mt. Pleasant Road, in Gravette.

Flowers may be sent to Bella Vista Funeral Home; or, in lieu of flowers, a love offering may be made to First Baptist Church, Hiwasse.
