GENTRY — The Pioneers lost to the Farmington Cards at home on April 5 and then to the Eagles at Huntsville on Friday.

Brayden Feathers scored Gentry’s first run in the first after he was hit by a pitch, advanced by a Riggs Harper sacrifice and then brought home on a Crafton Beeler line-drive double to right.

The Pioneer lead, however, was cut short when the Eagles matched the run in the bottom of the second and then added two more in the third and seven in the fourth, to make it a 10-1 ballgame.

Gentry answered with a run in the fifth and two in the seventh, but that was not enough and the Pioneers were dropped by the Eagles, 10-4, in six and a half innings of play.

In addition to being hit by a pitch, Feathers picked up two more hits in the game, including a double. Beeler had two hits and two RBIs in the game. Bart Walker also had two hits and was hit by a pitch.

Time on the mound was split by Isaak Crittenden and Alec Pearson. Crittenden struck out six and walked six. Pearson struck out three and walked two.

Gentry had four runs on nine hits. Huntsville had 10 runs on 11 hits.
