Gentry cuts ribbon on Dollar General

GENTRY — Dollar General hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening community celebratio­n at 900 JR Bever Blvd. in Gentry on Saturday morning.

The event began at 10 a.m. and included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Gentry’s mayor, Kevin Johnston, and Gentry Chamber of Commerce director, Janie Parks, joining DG staff in cutting the ribbon to the new DG Market in Gentry.

Customer giveaways included $10 gift cards to the first 50 adult customers and DG tote bags with product samples to the first 100 customers.

“Dollar General is excited to open our newest location in Benton County and celebrate the grand opening with the community,” said Mary Jane Reed, Dollar General’s district manager of operations. “As part of our mission of serving others, we believe the addition of each new store represents positive economic impact, and we look forward to being a strong business partner and good neighbor as we provide a convenient location to help Benton County residents stretch their budgets.”

Dollar General is creating new jobs in the Gentry community, with the store expected to employ approximat­ely six to 10 people, depending on the individual needs of the store.
