FAYETTEVILLE — A Siloam Springs man previously sentenced in Benton County to 100 years in prison and ordered to be a lifetime registered sex offender after admitting to sex crimes involving at least nine victims was given an additional 25 years in Washington County for similar crimes.

Matthew Nance, 24, pleaded guilty in Benton County to rape; engaging children in sexually explicit conduct to use in visual or print medium; seven counts of sexual extortion; distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child; video voyeurism; and four counts of computer fraud.

Nance pleaded guilty in Washington County Circuit Court on April 11 to distributing or possessing child pornography, sexual extortion, and engaging children in sexually explicit conduct to use in visual or print mediums.

According to court documents, Nance coerced one victim to engage in sexually explicit conduct by communicating a threat to harm her reputation and coerced a second victim, who was under the age of 18, to engage in sexually explicit conduct and send him videos and photos of that conduct by threatening to harm her reputation.

Nance was sentenced to a total of 20 years at the Arkansas Department of Corrections in one case and 25 years in the second case, which involved the minor victim. The sentences will run concurrently.

The Benton County cases involved a 17-yearold Siloam Springs girl. Nance threatened to send nude photos of her to her parents, boyfriend, and friends if she didn’t do what she was told, but she refused, according to police.

A woman came forward after Nance’s first arrest and reported to Siloam Springs police that Nance had contacted her on social media and threatened to send photos of her to people she knew, according to police.

Ten more girls or young women came forward with complaints concerning Nance after his first arrest.
