Recognizing Hope Connections Volunteers
Motivated by a desire to help others and make a difference, Hope volunteers give freely of their time without any expectation of recognition.yet sometimes, their selfless acts are deservedly acknowledged by those in their community.
Volunteers of Hope Connections were recognized for their commitment to helping others at the 2018 Florida Conference on Aging in Tampa. Hope Connections is a vital program that provides at-home senior support to underprivileged Hendry and Glades county seniors.this program provides home care and services, social meal centers, and transportation to pharmacies, Hope Care Centers and other essential locations.
Hope Connections volunteer Mary Bartoshuk was honored with two awards recognizing her dedication and service to the senior community. She received the 2018 FPL Quality Senior Living Award for Public Service and was also named the AARP Florida Coast to Coast recipient of the 2018 Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus Community Trailblazer Award.the Trailblazer Award celebrates an individual who has made significant contributions through volunteer activities.
Additionally, a group of Glades County students were acknowledged for their generous support of Hope Connections.the hard-working students were recognized with the Service to Seniors Award. Stephanie Standard, Javier Cardona,austin Lee and Jacey Ridgedill attended the conference to accept the well-deserved award, along with Superintendent of Glades County School District Scott Bass and Moore Haven Middle-high School Counselor Shannon Bass.
