Most of us have tried a diet or two or 10 in our lifetimes. So why can’t we get it right? One big reason: We’re busy. Very busy. Also stressed, tired, pulled in a million directions, bombarded by distractions. “We try extreme plans for a quick fix, but we don’t have enough time or energy to stick with them,” explains nutrition expert Rovenia “Dr. Ro” Brock, PH.D. “So we’ll just try to eat a little healthier— but it doesn’t work fast enough, so we give up on that, too.” We keep gaining all the while. Dr. Ro says she’s seen too many women fall into this unhealthy trap—including relatives with debilitating diabetes and her own mom, who died of obesity-related cancer. As Dr. Ro’s own waistband grew tighter, “I realized that millions of us need a plan that feels doable and is still effective enough to keep us motivated.” Dr. Ro experimented in hopes of finding one, losing 30 pounds herself. Her formula eventually helped more than half a million other women “lose up to 20 pounds in 15 days.” Adds the author of Lose Your Final 15: “This is the sanitysaving and lifesaving diet I wish someone had shared with my mother. I truly believe it’s the easiest way to lose weight in the real world.”

It’s this simple

Dr. Ro asked us to keep it simple when we explained her plan, so we’re doing just that. Each day, she wants you to aim for four servings of lean protein, six servings of veggies, two servings of low-fat dairy and three servings of healthy fats. (Over time, you gradually add whole grains and fruit.) Divvy up your daily allotment however you like or, for ultimate ease, just use our quick-and-yummy menus, below. To eliminate more hassle, Dr. Ro even lets you eyeball portions! Why does it work? There’s a lot of complicated science involved, but it boils down to this: You load up on crucial nutrients like protein and antioxidants while taking a break from sweets and other carb-dense

foods—a strategy that allows your body to quickly repair damage caused by roller-coaster blood sugar. These repairs are proven to help prevent Type 2 diabetes, boost health overall, and shift your hormonal balance in favor of weight loss. “Fat burns faster, energy shoots up and cravings disappear,” says Dr. Ro. “Within days, you feel so good it becomes tremendously easier to make choices that support your weight-loss goals.” And after 15 days, Dr. Ro has you begin adding back healthy carbs and even the occasional treat. “By then, your body has come far enough to handle them better, so your progress continues at a steady pace without you having to fight carb cravings,” she says. “You’ll get to a weight where you feel most comfortable and happiest!”

“I lost 73 lbs fast!”

Struggling with a serious sweet tooth, Debra Elrod was hesitant to cut sugar. But, as Dr. Ro predicted, she saw results quickly and was hooked. “I thought it might be too late to lose the weight—but for the first time in my life I’m out of plus sizes!” says the Alabama 61-year-old, down 92 pounds. As for Jenny-craigdropout Morgan Murphree, “diet microwave meals left me unsatisfied, so I’d cheat,” recalls the Alabama nursing student, 20. Referred to Dr. Ro, “I loved that I could eat real food but didn’t have to measure anything. I don’t have time to measure! I felt full longer, 100% more energized, and my cravings faded.” She sped off 73 pounds in 84 days! Though Amy Seymore struggled with spare pounds ever since her first pregnancy, most diets stressed her out too much to last. Not Dr. Ro’s approach! “It’s easy and straightforward, with just enough versatility. You don’t have to weigh or measure your food, and you can swap in any food you like,” says Amy, 41, an Alabama mom of three teens. “I didn’t think too much about it, and the weight just fell off!”
