Walk off 25lbs in 36 days! Researchers reveal the easy walking tweak that blocks fat storage!

When Keaton Perry vowed to lose weight, she bought workout DVDS she just couldn’t keep up with. So she switched to walking—with a fat-burning twist—and was stunned by how quickly her body transformed

O f course I’ll be your bridesmaid!” squealed Keaton Perry, jumping up and down and hugging her friend Jenny. The pair, former college roommates, had spent hours fantasizing about their weddings. Now Jenny had a sweet guy, a gorgeous ring—and it was time to plan for real. Keaton was so caught up in talk of venues and deejays, hours passed before she pictured her 289-pound frame wedged among the bridal party. If I don’t lose weight, I’ll ruin Jenny’s photos, she thought with a shiver. Keaton vowed to find a diet. But first, off to the drivethru for one last cheeseburger . . .

Months passed, and Keaton got a text from Jenny with two bridesmaid dress options. Which do you prefer? she asked. Staring at the images, “I can’t wear either one,” whispered Keaton, who hadn’t lost an ounce. Shame burned her face. She could not embarrass Jenny — or herself. She grabbed her phone and typed: Love them both! Thrilled to wear either! It was time to get to work.

First steps

Chubby since childhood, Keaton had lost weight only once—years ago while studying in Spain, where portions were small, junk food scarce and people walked a lot. Her weight exploded once she was back in the U.S. She needed help. On Amazon, she found a weight-loss system with great reviews; it promised fattorching workout DVDS, containers to measure portions and quick results. Perfect, thought Keaton. Yet when the package arrived, the containers were impossibly tiny, the workouts wildly intimidating. “I can’t do this,” she said aloud. Then she remembered the dresses. She had to try.

Keaton decided to start with the kit’s diet guide. She stocked up on recommended ingredients and carefully measured them for simple meals like scrambled eggs, sandwiches, loaded potatoes. It was all tasty, just not the large quantities she was used to. “I’m starving,” Keaton reported when mom Dianne called to check in. Mom’s response? She brought over homemade tomato sauce that was healthy and comforting. When Keaton tucked into a whole-wheat spaghetti dinner she made with it, the meal was delicious and satisfying. Maybe her body was adjusting! In the coming days, she could tell it was. She was seldom hungry. Despite a rocky start, Keaton was down a quick 15 pounds—and ready to give those DVDS a go.

A perfect pace

“It’s only thirty minutes,” Keaton murmured, popping the DVD into her laptop. Almost instantly, she was gasping for breath. I’m going to pass out, she worried. Collapsing on her couch, hopelessness washed over her again. I really can’t do this, she thought, tears flowing. Luckily, as her body cooled, her mind calmed. She couldn’t do the intense workouts. But when she was living in Spain, the only exercise she did was walking.

The next night, Keaton hopped on her dusty treadmill, determined to go half a mile in 10 minutes. Struggling after 30 seconds, she grabbed the support bars and pushed on. One minute, two minutes, three, 10. When time was up, Keaton was breathing hard but not weak or dizzy. Mostly she was proud. Tomorrow, I’ll try to go farther, she thought. Stronger by her third walk, she started adding little bursts of very fast walking or even jogging. What she didn’t realize was that she’d hit on a strategy proven to maximize fat burning and endurance. In no time, Keaton was breezing through two miles, three miles

and more with bursts of speed mixed in.

Little bursts of speed make an ordinary walk burn 900% more fat, per Canadian research. Why? Experts explain the technique not only adds intensity (which is crucial to boosting stamina), the movement is also so inefficient, it’s like frequently stopping and starting a car. It literally causes your body to guzzle fuel! Bonus: Because most of the time is spent at a leisurely pace, folks find it feels very easy. And yet the effect is so powerful, women adding speed bursts to walks report powering off up to 3/4 of a pound a day—enough to make 25 pounds disappear in 36 days!

Keaton’s extended family rallied around her, teaming up for backyard games that helped her sneak in more activity while having lots of fun. Already down 25 pounds, she was measured for her dress and needed a size 26. When it arrived six months later, it was so big, Keaton could barely even hold it up with both hands. “We’ll have to take it in quite a bit,” said the seamstress. Keaton laughed and cried—this time tears of joy. On Jenny’s big day, Keaton was down 90 pounds.

Amaze yourself!

At the wedding, “I felt confident and beautiful,” Keaton, 25, recalls. “No worrying or obsessing. I could just be there for my friend and celebrate with her. I danced all night!” Today, Keaton is down 110 pounds in all—and able to power through the DVDS that once knocked the wind out of her. Folks often ask the Upstate New York teacher for advice. “I tell them to be ready for every emotion. You’ll laugh, get angry, cry. But feeling good in your own skin is worth every tear—and every French fry you pass up,” she says with a smile. “Start now because you’ll wish you started it years ago. I think you’ll amaze yourself!”
