Woman's World

Hero in Uniform

My nine-year-old nephew, Zachary, was having fun at a local amusement park.

We count on them to protect us and keep us safe. And sometimes, these brave men and women do even more; going above and beyond the call of duty, proving there’s no limit to their courage and compassion!

While he was at one game booth, a woman soldier stepped up to play, trying to win a prize for her little boy. She didn’t have any luck, though, and Zach noticed the sad look on her face. So he gave her the stuffed alligator he had won earlier and told her to give it to her son. “Thank you for serving our country,” he said. The woman was so touched that she began to cry and said, “No one has ever said that to me before.” I gave Zach a big hug and told him how proud he made me. It’s wonderful to see a patriotic spirit in such a young man.
