An angel cushioned her fall! Woman’s World

When reader, Rebecca Harmon, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, needed help, her angel was there! She writes:

-

Afew years ago, I took a second part-time job to help pay off some bills. Everything went well at fi rst, but after a while, I began to feel overwhelmed and exhausted.

With a full calendar of other commitments, I had no time for myself. I promised myself that as soon as I’d met all my current obligations, I would take better care of myself. But in the meantime, I struggled to juggle all my responsibilities.

One day, while leaving home to go to my second job, I wished that my angel would show up, introduce herself and make everything better. “Fat chance,” I said aloud, while stepping from my porch onto the top front step.

“Only an angel could have saved me from suffering serious injuries in that fall!” Rebecca marvels

I was moving so quickly that I didn’t realize I had caught the cuff of my pants on a planter at the edge of the porch. Suddenly, I felt myself falling forward, headed face down to the concrete sidewalk below. And bordering the pathway were rough stone blocks and large, metal flower tubs!

Time seemed to slow down like a tragic movie scene as I braced for impact and certain pain and injury. But as I fell, I suddenly felt arms around my waist.

A moment later, I was on the ground. But somehow, I had landed on the grass. I wiggled my toes, hands, fi ngers and moved my neck. Amazingly, I was fi ne. I didn’t have so much as a scratch or bruise. How can this be? I wondered.

To have landed on the grass, I had to have “flown” straight out about three feet from the porch, directly over the cement walkway, then made a sharp right turn in midair, before dropping onto the grass.

There was no way I could have pulled off such a maneuver on my own. I realized there was only one explanation: My guardian angel had heard my plea and surely lifted, turned and dropped me onto the soft grass. I knew that this was a message that I was loved and that it was time for me to love myself.

Since then, I have learned to say no, and make sure to always pencil in some “me” time. And every day, when I walk out my front door, I smile and say, “Thank you!” to the angel who saved me from what would have been a lifealtering fall.

“Rebecca’s guardian angel sure is watching over her . . . just like all of us have guardian angels,” insists Doreen Virtue PH.D. “I believe that Rebecca’s angel had been guiding her toward better self- care. But sometimes it takes a wake- up call— or in Rebecca’s case, a wake- up fall— before we listen to what our angels are guiding us to do.

“When you feel a sense of protection that defi es logic, that’s often the sign that your guardian angel has intervened and protected you.

“I’m so happy that Rebecca recognized that her angel saved her from serious injury that day. I think that our guardian angels are constantly protecting us, but a lot of people don’t recognize this fact.

“How beautiful that Rebecca is reminded every day when she goes to her porch, and thanks her guardian angel!

“The angels say: ‘We are happy to care for you and protect your health, but we encourage you to also take good care of your own health.’ ”

Doreen says:

You are never alone. You are always loved and watched over
