COOKIES 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 cup Land O Lakes® butter, at room temperatur­e 1 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 2 Tbs. orange juice 1 Tbs. vanilla extract FROSTING 1/3 cup Land O Lakes® butter, at room temperatur­e 3 cups confection­ers’ sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1-2 Tbs. milk Food coloring, optional Assorted sprinkles and decoration­s, optional

Cookies: Combine flour and baking powder; reserve. In large bowl, on medium speed, beat butter, sugar and egg until creamy and blended. Add orange juice and vanilla; beat until blended. On low, gradually beat in flour mixture until combined. Divide dough into thirds. Shape each third into ball; flatten slightly. Wrap each in plastic wrap; refrigerat­e 2-3 hours until firm.

Preheat oven to 400°F. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, 1 ball at a time, to 1/8"-1/4" thickness, keeping remaining dough refrigerat­ed. Using assorted 2"-3" flower-shaped cookie cutters, cut out shapes. Place 1" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 6-10 minutes or until just beginning to brown around edges. Let stand 1 minute on baking sheet; transfer to rack. Cool completely.

Frosting: On medium speed, beat butter until creamy. On low, gradually beat in confection­ers’ sugar, then vanilla until blended. Gradually beat in enough milk for desired spreading consistenc­y. If desired, tint with food coloring. Frost and decorate cookies as desired. Makes 18 cookies.
