My Guardian Angel

When Woman’s World reader Donna Lunsford of Sausalito, California, was missing her mother, an angel helped them reconnect. She writes:

My mother always loved angels. One of her most treasured possessions was her little gold angel pin. When she wasn’t wearing it on her lapel, she kept it in her wallet as a reminder that she was surrounded by protection.

Woman’s World was Mom’s favorite magazine. She consistently made certain that both of our subscriptions were up to date because we enjoyed reading and discussing the “My Guardian Angel” column each week.

Mom lived in upstate New York, and even though I had moved to California, we talked to each other every day.

When my mother passed away, she left me her guardian angel pin. Having it brought me comfort. Still, I missed Mom terribly.

The night after her funeral, I went to bed depleted and very sad. I was having trouble sleeping and was still awake at 4 a.m. Weeping into my pillow, I asked God, “Please, send me a message that Mom is happy and in Heaven with You and the angels.”

Within seconds, my cellphone started to ring. Who could be calling at this time of night? I wondered, alarmed. When I answered, nobody was there, but the screen said I had a message.

There was no voicemail, and I tried calling the number on the display, but I only got a recording.

For a few moments, I tried to figure out the identity of my mystery caller. Then, sudden

ly, I realized the

call was the message from

my mother that I’d prayed for. She was letting me know she had arrived safely at her destination and was happy in Heaven.

I wept tears of joy, thankful that my prayer had been answered. A sense of peace rushed through my heart as I sensed my dear mother’s presence.

I still think of that 4 a.m. call and get a little shiver down my back, knowing that my angels were on the job.

“Not only was this a beautiful message from Donna’s mother, letting her know that she was happy and well on the other side, it was also a moment of healing to help overcome her grief,” says angel expert Kyle Gray.

“The angels love nothing more than reminding us of their presence. Just when Donna needed comfort the most, they brought her confirmation of the eternal bond with her mother in Heaven.

“In times of struggle or emotional loss, the angels draw closer, and if we are open to their support, as Donna was, they will aid us in overcoming whatever is weighing us down.

“Because of Donna’s faith and trust, I have no doubt that these miraculous beings were standing by and happy to help her when she needed them most.”

“I asked the angels to send me a sign, and they didn’t let me down!” Donna marvels
