A Heavenly visit

-

“The angels knew exactly what my children and I needed!”

When Woman’s World reader Kelly Hightower of Mcdonough, Georgia, was in need of some comfort, a visit from a special angel helped lighten her heart! She writes:

When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband was deployed overseas, but I was blessed to have my mom with me in the delivery room. She even cut the umbilical cord! After I gave birth, the baby and I moved in with my parents until my husband returned.

Though my husband was home when our second child was born, Mom was there for me again and helped us so much during those first few weeks of adjustment.

Sadly, a short time later, my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. I insisted she move in with us so I could help care for her. She fought long and hard, and she wanted to live for her “babies,” as she called my children.

Unfortunately, after many unsuccessful treatments of chemotherapy, her body was too tired to continue, and she passed away. The whole family was with her in her final hours. As we gathered around her bed, we heard a sound outside the bedroom in the hallway. My aunt checked but didn’t see anyone.

After Mom passed, I walked into the living room and discovered my 8-yearold son sitting on the couch. When I asked what he was doing out of bed, he turned to me and said, “I wanted you to know that Grandmommy was sitting on the side of the bed watching me. But she was young, like you!”

Tears filled my eyes as I knew with all my heart that this was Mom’s spirit, making a quick stop to see her “babies” one more time before passing over into Heaven.

It has been a blessing and a reassurance to know that while her body may have been ravaged by disease on this Earth, Mom was once again young and healthy in spirit and that she is watching over us like a guardian angel.
