Dragonfly of love

Woman’s World reader Kathi Robbins was dealing with a tough family situation when her father sent a loving sign to comfort her. She writes:

My dad passed away in 2000 from cancer, and since then, I have always felt him near me, especially when dragonf lies are around me. I think it’s because he grew up on a farm and always had a large garden when I was young.

After he passed, I started to get frequent visits from dragononf lies. They would always come in the summer, when I tended to my garden.

In the summer of 2013, I was working in a drug and alcohol detox center. At the same time, I had a loved one who needed help. I told him that I could tr y to get him a bed in the facilit y if he wanted to tr y again. He agreed and I drove him there the next morning.

I was glad I could help him, but after he got out of my car, I just sat feeling so sad for him and I began to talk to my dad. Suddenly, a dragonf ly f lew in my car window and landed on my knee. I was stunned. I continued talking to my dad, but I kept looking directly at the dragonf ly.

sAs I poured out my heart, the dragonf ly sat motionless on my leg, looking right at me. It was at least 5 minutes that I cried and purged everything from my heart and soul, and still that dragonf ly sat completely com still. I couldn’t believe it.

When I f inished, I took a deep breath and thanked my dad for listening, then told him I loved him and asked him to please look over my loved one.

Just as I f inished speaking, the dragonf ly f lew out of my window. I had to sit there for a few minutes longer to process what had just happened. I know that my dad showed himself in that dragonf ly.

Whatever happens in my life, I know I can talk to my dad— and I always do. And I look for ward to and cherish the times when the dragonf lies make an appearance and f ly around me. I know they are bringing me love from Dad.
