WOONSOCKET — Everette Misto went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Joey Barter added a pair of RBIs and earned the win on the mound to lead Mount St. Charles to a 9-4 victory over West Warwick at McCarthy Field Wednesday.

Mount St. Charles (10-7 Division I) scored all the runs it would need in the opening inning as Alex Hale drove in Joe Sanchioni to started a fourrun first inning. Misto followed with a single to score Aidan Donahue and Hale.

Barter, who pitched into the fifth inning, increased Mount’s lead to 9-3 in the third inning when he delivered a two-run single to score James Belisle and Misto.

Hale will start Thursday’s game at Ponaganset if the contest doesn’t get rained out. If the game is pushed to Saturday, coach Paul Jacques said it could be a bullpen contest with Hale slated to start Wednesday’s playoff opener. “The Reservation” Wednesday.

Junior Ty Parrillo had started the rally with a single, then robbed second before Butler’s fateful blow off of Cam Toti. The Chieftains improved to 12-5 overall (13-5 league) with the verdict.

What made the defeat all the more painful for the Broncos (6-11) was the fact they had base runners in scoring position in the seventh inning, but junior Chris DiPetrillo fanned two batters to earn the save.
