Big Broth­ers Big Sis­ters bowl­ing event raises $31K

CRANSTON — Big Broth­ers Big Sis­ters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS) hosted Bowl For Kids’ Sake (BFKS) on Satur­day, Oct. 14, at Lang’s Bowlarama in Cranston, rais­ing over $31,000 through event spon­sor­ships, raf­fle do­na­tions, and bowler fundrais­ing ef­forts. Nearly 200 at­ten­dees made up 30 bowl­ing teams to show their sup­port for men­tor­ing ef­forts in Rhode Is­land.

“The goal for our first BFKS was to raise at least $18,000, and we were thrilled to raise dou­ble that amount,” said Sarah Perlman, BBBSOS board mem­ber and 2017 chair of BFKS. “Ev­ery dol­lar raised will go to supporting men­tor­ing pro­grams for Rhode Is­land chil­dren.”

BBBSOS thanked the event co-spon­sors for their gen­er­ous sup­port, es­pe­cially: Pere­grine Prop­erty Man­age­ment; Mar­covich, Man­sour & Capo­bianco, LLC; BankRI; Cox Com­mu­ni­ca­tions; Batista Com­pa­nies; B & Z Man­age­ment Group; and United-Health­care.

BBBSOS ex­tended a special thanks to the cor­po­rate spon­sors and in­di­vid­u­als who pur­chased and do­nated BFKS tick­ets so that “Lit­tles” (mentees) and “Bigs” (men­tors) could par­tic­i­pate for free.
