The fashion

faithful came in droves over the weekend to experience L. A.’s newest retail experience, Dover Street Market Los Angeles. In an unassuming white warehouse space in the downtown Arts District, one could find delights ranging from diamonds to kicks, intricately pleated evening gowns held together with wire, and screen-printed T-shirts.

Dover Street chief executive officer Adrian Joffe welcomed friends including Diane Keaton to a special preview on Friday afternoon, where people stood 12-deep at the cash wrap to be among the first to make purchases. At Saturday’s official opening, the line stretched down the block and did not abate until the end of the day.

“The way DSM creates dozens of mini environments inside of one space is very inspirational. All of their spaces feel inclusive and experiential. Their model allows them to offer so many different kinds of products and brands, and speak to a much wider audience,” said designer Zoe Latta of Eckhaus Latta, who was among the designers there this weekend. Also present were Tommy Hilfiger, Edie Campbell, Katerina Jebb, Alex Israel, Ana Khouri, Chris Peters, Shane Gabier, Marine Serre, Melitta Baumeister, Eli Russell Linnetz, Gaia Repossi, Tom Binns, Suzanne Kalan, Stephen Jones, Sophie Buhai and Alessandro Michele. Celebrities included A$AP Rocky, A$AP Nast, Chance the Rapper, Jadakiss, Liberty Ross and Jonas Wood.

Said Jones, “I have a lot of clients from the West Coast and at last they don’t have to travel to New York or London for their retail therapy.” —
